Space Spins Slots
Wazdan’s Space Spins has 40 pay lines, various betting options, and unique innovations. One is the free spins you can earn. You’re almost guaranteed to get some since one of the base game’s features is that it will convert a collection of 5 or more, a reward given to you with the space-sliding sound of a laser firing. Another feature, the Gamble option, is nifty and unexpected.
What's it about?
If you like stunning slots, don't look further than Space Spins. The graphics are so breathtaking; it’s like you are in the stars. The transparent reels have a very ethereal quality. It will leave you wide-eyed; somehow, the designers made a great game set in space. From the floral shapes and stellar reels, it incorporates unfathomable detail chiseled into the visages of the many win multipliers. You'll believe you're in a game of ah-gorgeous-zingo, with a much better payoff. The sound effects alone will leave you reeling.
Who is the Developer?
If space-themed games are your thing, this one easily ranks among the best of them. You won’t want to skip it, especially not when you consider the many, many more things this game offers aside from a simple title. The field is 6 reels deep and 40 pay lines wide. You'll score quite a few wins when you’re set up to play on a grid like that.
Theme and Visuals
The reels of the Space Spins slot are creatively made to resemble the front spaceship control room. They open into the galaxy, with a giant planet reclining just to the right of the action and the occasional shooting star firing past in the background. The space-themed slot has state-of-the-art visuals that make you stand still and make the competition feel like it’s standing still in space. And to take those visuals straight into your brain, Space Spins has a stunning soundtrack that pulls you into the game.
Game Symbols
Unusual and lovely crystals fashioned like flowers and stars appear on the reels. These are the rare and precious off-world minerals that you, as an intrepid cosmic pioneer, are intent on gathering. When these formations hit the reels, and during post-win ecstatic celebrations, the actual visuals of the game are really something else. They are just so well done that it is quite a visual reward in and of itself.
Rainbow Wilds and UFO Scatters
The special symbols in Space Spins are the Rainbow Wilds and the UFO Scatters. The Rainbow Wilds not only stand in for other symbols, but they also pay off quite nicely. Land six of them on a pay line, and you have a superior payout. The other special symbol, the UFO Scatter, does something very different: It triggers the Free Spins feature.
Wagering Choices and Playing Instructions
Space Spins gives you the possibility to choose from 3 volatility levels. That’s a cool option that seriously adds to the game’s character. With moderate volatility, you have a decent chance of hitting enough matching symbols to trigger a return. At the other end of the spectrum, clear your cabin in the space station because winning may very well bring down the house. The below-the-belt jackpot is so outrageous it should be illegal. Understandably, our space station patrons, the characters who work there, and Space Spins themselves recommend wagering responsibly.
Space Piles Bonus
There are two principal bonus characteristics in Space Spins. The first I came across was the Space Piles bonus. A random symbol is picked at the beginning of each base game spin. When that symbol appears, it expands to occupy the reel it landed on. Space Piles now picks a paying symbol about as often as it picks a common one and has it land stacked on multiple reels straight up as if it had just shot out of a Space Piles cannon for huge potential wins.
Free Spins
The UFO Scatters trigger the Free Spins feature. One of the symbols is chosen randomly before free spins commence, and there’s a chance that a random number of reels will feature a stack of these symbols. The Space Pile symbols are also available in the base game but occur less frequently.
Gamble Feature
You have the Gamble feature. There are two such features in Space Spins. The advanced one is unique, however. Instead of thinking about the color of a face-down card, you’ll fight against spaceships. How about that?
Final Impression of Space Spins
My impression of Space Spins was quite positive. I have a very clear bias. I love the whole space theme. There is something inherently compelling about the beautiful, dark void we occupy, coupled with the mind-bending animations and graphics, the dazzling light shows of quasars and pulsars, and the many improbabilities and meteorological events of our unfathomable universe. So, okay, I might love all things space to a very crazy extent. I certainly do with astrophysics and cosmology.
